The Kern Valley High School girls wrestling team sent seven wrestlers to compete with 63 schools and 162 wrestlers at the Girls CIF Central Section Division II Championship at Morro Bay High School February 9-10

KV boys wrestlers face tough competition at CIFs in Delano

The Kern Valley boys wrestling team brought five wrestlers to the Boys CIF Central Section Division IV Championships at Cesar Chavez High School in Delano, February 9-10. Competing against 27 schools and 280 wrestlers. Kern Valley was 25th with 18.0 points. Golden West won it with 188.5 points, followed by Reedley with 155.5 and Mt. Whitney with 151.0. 

Broncs sit out a week, prepare for CIF soccer playoffs

The Kern Valley Broncs girls soccer team closed out their regular season with an 11-5-1 record and were 10-3-1 in High Desert League play. The CIF Central Section Division VI playoffs await, as  both scheduled games for last week were cancelled – February 6 vs. Bishop and February 8 at Frazier Mountain.

With first place in the High Desert League on the line, Kern Valley’s girls basketball team closed out the season against the Rosamond Roadrunners. The Lady Broncs faced Rosamond (18-7, 9-1 in HDL) on Tuesday, coming off a tough overtime loss to Desert, while the Roadrunners were riding a six-game win streak.

The Kern Valley boys basketball team closed out the 2023-24 High Desert League season with a 75-48 loss at the hands of HDL title-winner Rosamond (17-9 overall and 11-1 in HDL play), on February 7.
