Kern Valley stays alive in HDL race

The varsity Lady Broncs continued their march to a showdown in league action. Kern Valley took a pair of games from Mammoth and Boron to keep their HDL title hopes alive.

Versus Mammoth it was a lopsided affair as the Lady Broncs broke open a close game in the top of the fifth. The score was sitting at 5-3 after four innings with Kern Valley having the edge. The bats came alive in the top of the fifth as the Lady Broncs produced 12 runs in the inning. The Lady Huskies had no answer and the game went to Kern Valley 17-3.

The Lady Broncs as a team only had five hits, but they were issued 15 walks to help their cause in gaining the win.

The next game, the Lady Broncs played was at home against Boron. In the end, Kern Valley would claim the contest 9-1.

A four-run first inning propelled the Lady Broncs. Boron scored their lone run in the top of the second to make it 4-1, but Kern Valley stayed in control as they shut out the Lady Bobcats the rest of the way. The Lady Broncs added two runs in the second inning, one run in the bottom of the fourth and finished the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. 

No other information was made available for this game.

Kern Valley after losing to Cal City 5-1, have now on three straight games. In that time the Lady Broncs have out scored their opponents 44-10.  

Kern Valley sits at 15-6 overall on the year. Their HDL record is 9-1 with four games remaining. They played Desert at home on Tuesday and will go on the road to Frazier Mountain on Friday.
