Angelo Halamandaris of Wofford Heights, California passed away on 9 August, 2026 at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of deep Catholic faith and unwavering dedication to his family.
Angelo was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Angelo was selfless and generous, always doing for others. When his promotion announcement to Vice President of Engineering came across the loud speaker at work, four floors of employees rose in unison to give a standing ovation together with hoots and hollers.
Angelo was born and grew up in Carbon County, Utah, the third son of a greek immigrant coal mining and farming family. Right before Angelo was born, his family built the Skylark on the outskirts of Price, Utah, which quickly became the most popular night club in town. As a helping hand at the bar, Angelo developed world class social skills over the years, and occasional first hand experience in conflict management.
Angelo served the altar at the Greek Orthodox Church in Price and was a gifted student. Angelo was an excellent athlete, excelling in baseball as a youngster and football in high school. However, Angelo is best known in his hometown for the good times and exploits in the community and to this day, remains the main subject of many fun stories. Angelo attended Utah State University and graduated in electrical engineering.
After graduation, Angelo moved to Southern California where he would spend a career working as an electrical engineer and then in senior management in communications and military avionics. Angelo met the love of his life Joanne in the early 1970s. They later married and are now the proud grandparents of nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great- great grandchildren. Angelo is survived by his wife Joanne, children Freddie (Vicky), Doreen (Bob), Danny, Bryan (Sara Jean), seven living grandchildren and two deceased (Taylor, Danielle).
Angelo was preceded in death by his parents Gust and Olga, his brothers George (Kathrynt), Phill (Marilyn) and is survived by brothers Harry (Sandrat) and Pete (Isabel). As a young adult, Angelo spent much of his free time with his brothers and their families and is loved affectionately by many nephews, nieces and families. Services will be held on Saturday, August 29th at 2:00PM at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 86 Nellie Dent Drive, Wofford Heights, CA 93285.
