Mike "Spock" Rooffener

Posted

A man of few words and a jack of all trades, Michael Rae Rooffener was born May 24, 1961 to Earl Rooffener and Barbara Heavener. The middle child between Geoffrey and Carla, described as a kind and protective brother.

Mike spent much of his youth in the woods with his grandfather, Ralph, and father, Larry, where he developed a deep love and respect for wildlife. He would light up recalling stories of different animals he saw and he knew every ridge, canyon, and road where he had spotted them. Mike was happiest in nature with his family, camping and exploring.

Mike deeply loved his friends and family and would do anything for them. He would go without, if it meant he could help someone he loved. At the end of his days, his concern still centered around the effects on his wife and kids rather than his own wellbeing.

Mike was well loved in return and will be greatly missed. He lost his battle with cancer, in his home surrounded by family, on November 8, 2025. He is survived by his wife Jeana, children Jessica and Michael Paul, and Sister Carla.
funeral: Mike’s Remembrance will be held December 7th, 11AM, at Sierra Vista Restaurant in Weldon.
