Kelly Lehn Kent, age 42, passed away on June 16, 2026, in her home surrounded by her unwavering caretakers, her parents Maughan and Debbie Kent. Kelly was born in Bakersfield, California on June 1, 1984. Kelly was the last of five children born into their family.

Early in her life, she was diagnosed with the neuro-muscular disease, Freidriech’s Ataxia. Despite her limitations, she attended college receiving an associate’s degree from Cerro Coso Community College. During her time in college, she understood that her mortal life was going to be short, so she decided to go live as much as she could. To fulfill this drive Kelly and her sister Jenny travelled widely. Kelly loved seeing the world. Traveling in a wheelchair was a challenge but always an adventure.

Kelly loved to shop and dress stylishly. Krissy and Elle love to receive her hand-me-downs. She loved getting her hair and nails done. She always made sure she looked her best.  Kelly loved being creative.  Crafting was difficult for her. She used her computer to express her creativity through digital scrapbooking, card and invitation making and designing the weekly program for her local church congregation for years. Kelly loved to read.  Over the years, audiobooks became her passion.  She loved to listen to great books and share recommendations with friends. Her smile would illuminate any room she entered.

Kelly is survived by her parents, sisters Jennifer Alfred (Harley), and Krissy Schultz (Daniel). Her memory will live on through her nieces, Elle, Emma, Jenna and nephews, Adam, Luke, and Kent.

Kelly was preceded in death by her brother, Joe, and sister, Nicole.
