With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of Dorothy Brock - beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and treasured friend - who left us peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at the age of 100.
Born Ruby Dorothy Peavy on September 25, 1924, in DeKalb, Texas, to Lela Jane Ellis and David Albert Peavy, she was known to most as Dorothy or Dot. Her life was a shining example of compassion, resilience, and generosity.
In 1946, she married her adoring husband, Olin Brock. Together, they moved west to Los Angeles, California, where they raised three children. In 1964, they relocated to Lake Isabella, where they operated the Texaco Service Station for 17 years and became founding members of the Kern River Valley Elks Lodge - building a life rooted in service and community.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Olin, and her eldest daughter, Carol. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Richie and Ken, and her grandchildren, Marla, Kalen, and Kyle. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion lives on in each of them and in the hearts of all who knew her.
Dorothy embodied warmth and selflessness. Her gentle presence uplifted everyone she met. Though she is no longer with us, her memory and the example she set will continue to inspire and comfort all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for your presence, prayers, and support during this time of remembrance. Your kindness and love are deeply appreciated.
