The Elite Youth Wrestlers made the trip to Bakersfield to take part in the 2024 Bakersfield South Valley Scuffle. (Note: no last names were made available)
George wrestling in two divisions was the top finisher. He took first in both the Elite and the Novice divisions. Joe was the runner up in the Novice division and finished third in the Elite division. Conner wrestled his way to the second-place spot in the Elite division. Aubree took home a third-place finish in the Elite division. Liam, wrestling in his first tournament, was able to grab the third-place finish in the Novice division. He also grabbed the bragging rights in an exhibition match that he was able to win.
One of the coaches, Robert Swan had this to say about the Scuffle, “These are all significant for each of our kids in their own way. Because of the limited number of entries, they were all challenged in various ways. From either the emotions of wrestling teammates or bigger/older kids that would have otherwise been in another weight class. Great job everyone.”
