The Lady Broncs varsity softball team suffered a loss to Woodlake in perfect condition.
The Lady Tigers pitcher tossed a perfect game in handing Kern Valley the 10-0 loss in five innings. The Lady Broncs sent 15 batters to the plate and saw all 15 retired. As a team 10 of those outs came by way of strikeout.
Only five Kern Valley batters were able to get the bat on the ball, with none producing a hit. The Lady Tigers pitcher dominated for the 12th ranked team in the Central Section.
Woodlake began their scoring with a run in the second to go up 1-0. It would be all they needed. They continued by scoring five in the second, three in the third, and finished with a run in the fourth.
The game was stopped after the top of the fifth due to the run rule.
The Lady Broncs pitchers could not keep up as they surrendered the 10 runs, only five earned. They allowed 14 hits and five free passes, while only striking out two.
Only one game was reported by the deadline in the Mira Monte Tournament from this past weekend.
The Lady Broncs made it to the Consolation final, but were handled by Barstow 14-1.
No offensive or pitching information were made available for this game.
The Lady Broncs sit at 6-4 on the year as they finished up their non-league portion of the schedule.
They will now turn their attention to HDL play. They began league with a contest versus Bishop on Tuesday at home. They will play Mammoth on Friday at home to continue HDL action.
