Kern County, CA — Firefighters have fully contained a vegetation fire that broke out late Saturday morning near Pine Hollow Avenue along Highway 178, east of Walker Pass.
The incident began as a reported vehicle fire just before noon and quickly spread into surrounding brush, drawing a multi-agency response from Kern County Fire, U.S. Forest Service, and allied crews. Dispatch logs show that engines, patrol units, water tenders, and command staff were assigned to the scene, with crews establishing control lines to halt the spread.
According to Kern County Fire dispatch records, the blaze was declared closed at 1:04 p.m., roughly one hour and 24 minutes after initial reports. No structures were damaged and no injuries have been reported.
