Rep. Vince Fong (CA-20) lauded the Bureau of Reclamation’s commitment to further maximize California’s water
supply, in line with President Trump’s Executive Order 14181 which Fong supported. As part of this effort, $315.5
million will be invested to develop new water storage at the future Sites Reservoir and expand capacity at the
existing San Luis Reservoir.
“Investing in California’s surface water storage is paramount to achieving greater reliability and reducing volatility
of our state’s water supply,” said Rep. Fong. “This substantial investment at Sites and San Luis reservoirs
demonstrates our commitment to investing in one of the world’s most productive agricultural regions. Ensuring
efficient water resources for America’s food capital is a matter of national security and affects every American, and
I thank President Trump and his Administration for their swift attention and action on this longstanding issue.”
These efforts are critical to build more water storage in California to enhance water resources, providing stability
for farmers and consistency for all Californians.
