A person died Thursday evening after a pickup truck crashed into a vacant building along Lake Isabella Boulevard in Bodfish, according to emergency dispatch traffic.
The crash was reported at 5:13 p.m. near 4113 Lake Isabella Blvd. Initial logs described a solo gray pickup truck that struck the building.
Emergency crews were assigned and headed to the scene at 5:17 p.m. A unit arrived about 10 minutes later. Dispatch records later show responders contacted the Kern County Coroner’s Office, confirming the crash involved a fatality.
Photos from the scene show a pickup truck stopped in front of the structure with visible exterior damage. Landscaping timbers and debris were scattered along the sidewalk, suggesting the vehicle left the roadway before hitting the building. Law enforcement blocked part of the roadway while crews worked the scene.
Authorities have not released the identity of the person who died. No injuries inside the vacant building have been reported.
Officials continue investigating the cause of the crash. More information is expected once next of kin are notified.
