Donald L. Morehouse, beloved husband, Pops, Grandpa, and Great Grandpa, passed away at his home in Bodfish, California, on June 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Don was born in Bristol, South Dakota, on March 12, 1937, to Lloyd and Lillian (Stolsmark) Morehouse. He was the oldest of 13.
At the age of 17, Don joined the Army for four years and then continued his distinguished military career with the Navy for an additional 26 years.
In February 1973, Don met the love of his life, Julie. They married in December 1974.
Don is survived by his wife of 50 years, Julie, five children, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church, Lake Isabella, at 10:00 on July 19, 2024, followed by a full-military-honors burial at Bakersfield National Cemetery in Arvin at 2:00.
