Van was born in Safford, Arizona but was raised in New York. During his life he was a marine in Viet Nam, a truck driver, a mud logger, science and math educator at Kern Valley High, a pilot, and a musician. After his brother, Mike’s death, he helped to raise his 3 kids, Mike, Joey, and Bonnie.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and dedicated his life to teaching others about God’s creation. He leaves behind his wife, Debbie, nephews Mike and Joey and niece Bonnie and her family Nick and Caleb, sister Jill, brother Bill, and many cousins and relatives. He will be sorely missed.
