The Kernville Chamber of Commerce held its annual Fall Festival, Saturday October 26 and Sunday October 27, at Circle Park.

President of the chamber, Orion Sanders, called children over for one of the most awaited traditions. “We’re going to be right over here at the Kernville Chamber booth and have a little costume parade. So work your way over here.” He said, “We’re going to parade around the park. We’re going to be visiting some of our vendors and doing a little trick or treating.”

Events Saturday included a performance by Danica’s School of Dance. Elite Cheer also gave a performance with lots of jumps, throws, and acrobatics.

The winner of the Little Dog Race, this year, was Ashley Hill’s dog Bruno. The winner of the Dog Costume Contest was Amy Sansfield’s dog Daisy.

Events Sunday included long held traditions, the Sack Races, Egg Toss, and a Pie Eating Contest, for which Cheryl’s Diner baked the pies.

Sunday participants enjoyed the long awaited Boo-Tacular Fun Run event, which OnPoint Gym sponsored, and Sarge’s Wreaths 4 Vets presented. This was a Halloween themed, challenging obstacle course, at the arena. The BOO-Tacular included Team, Youth, Adult, and Tiny Kids Challenges, ribbons, and prizes.

Kernville First Baptist Church manned a pumpkin patch with a sign inviting kids to their youth group. Others donating to the pumpkin patch, besides the church, were Kern River Ceviche Company, OnPoint Gym, Cheryl’s Diner, and John Wilson. The chamber had a box on display, for individual donations, so each of the kids visiting could enjoy a free pumpkin at the event.

Vendors there sold festive and colorful crafts and circulated information to locals. There was also a huge inflated slide, a moon bounce, and lots of food vendors.
