Kern Valley’s freshmen Broncs whitewashed their Cal City opponent 33-0 this past Saturday.
The Broncs saw three different players cross the goal line in the contest. Kash Lange scored three times on the ground to lead the Kern Valley freshmen team. Nolan Baker and Noah Martin each score a rushing touchdown to keep the Broncs offense rolling over Cal City. Kian Bachman also got in on the scoring as he converted a pair of extra-point attempts.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Broncs saw six players gather up multiple tackles in stopping Cal City. Lange, Baker, Bachman, Wyatt Huckaby Xavier Griffin, and Eli Moore were instrumental in Keeping Cal City off the scoreboard.
Sophomores:
Cal City 12 – Kern Valley 7
Ezekeil Padilla would score the lone touchdown for Kern Valley. Padilla stepped up to run the offense as the Kern Valley’s starting QB had to leave the game. Adam Pennington contributed on offense by picking up positive yards on the ground.
The Broncs defense was led by Loki Priest who collected a sack and pounced on a loose ball for a fumble recovery. He also was credited with multiple tackles. Keegan Stevens recovered a Cal City fumble and also helped keep the game close with multiple tackles.
JV:
Kern Valley 26 – Cal City 6
The JV Broncs remained undefeated as they ripped off their third straight win. They would completely dominate their Cal City opponent. Kern Valley saw three players total 248 yards on the ground. The JV team was led on offense by Xander Anzaldo. He rushed for 158 yards and scored all dour of the touchdowns for Kern Valley. Chasen Alvarez went for 83 yards, while Talon Montes finished with seven yards on the ground. Montes and Jacob Arellanes hooked up twice to convert extra points in the game.
On the defensive side of the ball, Luke Carver led the team with six tackles, including a sack. Anzaldo followed by getting credit for four tackles. Spencer Mental and Hank Gonzles each had three tackles, including a sack of the Cal City quarterback. Alvarez and Montes also had three tackles in the game. Rounding out the defense, Arellanes and Travis Beaton collected a pair of tackles each.
Varsity:
Kern Valley 20 – Cal City 6
The varsity Broncs picked up their first win of the year as they took care of Cal City. According to one of the varsity coaches this was a total team effort. The only blemish in the game came off a turnover that Cal City converted into a touchdown. Note: No other information was made available.
