Toby Harold Bencoma

Jan. 27, 1971-Oct. 31, 2018

Toby was born in Snohomish, Wash., and resided in Kern County his entire life, most importantly, Kernville, Calif., for over 20 years. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family including: girlfriend Cindy Malone; mother Lana Knowles; daughters Laresa Andrews and Shelby Eller; grandson Joshua Andrews; sisters Cissie Keil and Christina Denison; brothers-in-law Randy Keil and Keith Denison; nieces Ashton Vasquez, Kayli Beyer and Tori Mason; and nephew Isaiah Denison along with thousands of extended family members.

Toby was welcomed to his eternal resting place by his son, Joshua Bencoma, father Nicholas Bencoma, brother Nick Bencoma and many other awaiting angels.

During his 47 years, Toby was known as an amazing dad, “Toby dad,” “Tubby dad,” son, boyfriend, uncle, brother, “Gampa Toby,” and most importantly, a friend to all he met. He had an immense love for the Kern River and the small close knit community in which he resided. Always eager and willing to help others he truly exemplified the values of a man. His smile and laughter will lovingly remain etched in our memories. After a long hard 4-year battle with cancer, Toby took his final breath surrounded by family members at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital.

Services will be held November 10, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Basham Funeral Care Chapel, 3312 Niles Street, Bakersfield. For flower delivery information please call 661-873-8200.
