A light in our valley has gone out with the passing of Chip, A.K.A., Thomas Cowell, Age 56.
Chip was born on October 18, 1962 in Lompoc, Calif. and passed away on September 30, 2019 at his home in Lake Isabella, Calif. The cause of which is pending.
He graduated from Kern Valley High School, Class of 1980. He was a member of the Local 640 International Brotherhood of Electricians Union out of Prescott Valley, Ariz. and leaves behind many brothers and friends out of the Prescott Valley area. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Sally and Jerry Villars of Lake Isabella, Calif., his sister Joy (Cowell) Smith of Santa Clarita, Calif., his brothers Lonny Cowell of Texas, Bob, Mike, and Rick Marselle. Scott Hall, his fiancé and the love of his life Kelly Holcomb of Lake Isabella, Calif. His four-legged brother “Bubba” and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his only child. His fur baby son “Tramp.” His father Thomas Cowell, his birth mother Donna Peck, his brother Terry Hargrove, his grandmother Cowell, whom he loved very much, and many other family members.
Chip was kind and generous, the first to lend a hand, and an accomplished drummer. He loved music, loved playing darts, and he loved social events of any kind. He had a goal to learn something new every day and did.
He was known for his tireless work ethic, his ability to fix darned near anything. He was always happy and had a great sense of humor and wit. He had an infectious laugh, a dependable nature, integrity, and he made friends easily. He loved to cook or BBQ for everyone.
He will be fondly remember and sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
We will be having a celebration of life and potluck on Saturday, November 9 at Arlies Bar in Lake Isabella, Calif. from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Bring your favorite dish, favorite memory, or just yourselves. All 21 and older are welcome.
