On Thursday December 19, the BakersfieldNow Staff news reporters reported that the high school teacher, accused of abuse, formerly employed by Kern Valley High School, pleaded no contest to the charges he allegedly committed sex acts with an underage student, in March of 2024, according to Kern County Superior Court records.
The former instructor, Christopher David Renaudo, age 29, was accused of five counts, including two counts of oral copulation, with a person under the 18 years of age, along with exhibiting harmful matter to a minor.
The accused pleaded no contest to both counts.
Charges previously led student parents to seek answers after Kern Valley High school teacher’s arrest for the allegedly committing sex crimes
The court dismissed three related counts, Thursday, according to the court records, which news reporters accessed the contents of.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office filed an incident report about Renaudo, which indicated the crimes were reported when on the morning of March 5th, 2024, Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies from the Kern Valley Substation were dispatched
to Kern Valley High School for the investigation of these suspicions.
Police eventually learned of an inappropriate relationship between Kern Valley High School teacher Christopher Renaudo, 29, of Bakersfield, and a juvenile student. The teacher was placed on administrative leave, from the district, and then the Kern County Sheriff’s Office continued the investigation. Thereafter the Sheriffs Office arrested Renaudo April 4, 2024, once deputies responded to a warrant.
Renaudo is due to be sentenced in court on January 21, 2025.
