At approximately 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, the Kern County Fire Department received calls for a structure fire in the 2200 Block of Hinson St. in Lake Isabella. Initial reports stated that a 10-year-old child was possibly inside a double-wide mobile home that was on fire. The first arriving units encountered a double-wide mobile home fully on fire. It was quickly determined that the reported child was not inside the mobile home. Crews aggressively attacked the fire, keeping it contained to the house of origin, protecting a garage and another nearby mobile home. The mobile home was a complete loss, but no other structures were affected. There were no injuries to fire personnel or civilians. The fire crews were able to save a dog that lived at the house. The cause and cost of damage is unknown.

The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind you to check your smoke detectors regularly and replace the batteries every 6 months.
