PRESS RELEASE / Kern County Fire Department
At 6:07 am this morning the Kern County Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of Verna St. Upon arrival, firefighters were faced with a fire on the outside of a single wide trailer that was quickly spreading to the trailer. Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire, while pulling a hose line to protect exposures next to the trailer. Firefighters were able to stop the fire from burning the inside of the trailer, while also protecting the neighboring exposures. There was one occupant home at the time of the fire and nearby neighbors were able to help him evacuate the trailer. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and perform a search of the trailer confirming no other occupants were inside. The occupant of the trailer was treated by an on scene ambulance for minor injuries. There were no injuries to firefighters as a result of the fire. The fire is under investigation.
