The Kern Valley boys wrestling team competed with Bishop and Desert as each school is moving toward the CIF tournaments.
There was not much action on the mats as the Broncs sent a strong contingent of wrestlers, but the other two schools had limited participation. Kern Valley was able to win both matches in the double-dual. One highlight for the Broncs was Charles Schmeiser being named the JV MVP for the HDL. The Broncs finished the year 6-1 overall and 6-0 in league matches.
Kern Valley will head to Farmersville on Friday as they try and qualify as many of their wrestlers to advance to the CIF masters Tournament. In the Central Section, each school gets one wrestler in each weight class. The wrestlers try and make it to the top three so they can move on further in CIF. The Broncs compete in Division 5. That’s when the qualifying wrestlers gather in the Masters to see who moves on to the CIF State Tournament. The top 10 will advance to compete at State.
