Vehicle Strikes Person in Electric Wheelchair in Lake Isabella Collision

LAKE ISABELLA — Emergency crews responded Thursday evening, Jan. 22, to a traffic collision involving a person in an electric wheelchair at the intersection of Lake Isabella Boulevard and Crestview Avenue, according to Kern County emergency dispatch records.

The incident was first reported shortly after 6:00 p.m. as a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision. Dispatch logs indicate the pedestrian was operating an electric wheelchair when the collision occurred.

As the call developed, dispatchers received additional information suggesting the incident may have involved multiple vehicles. Later entries referenced a motorcycle and a white truck at the scene, indicating a more complex collision scenario. The exact sequence of events remains under investigation.

The call was later categorized as an “expanded traffic collision,” prompting a multi-agency response. Several fire engines and a battalion chief were dispatched, and at least one ambulance was initially assigned. Emergency medical personnel were requested to assist at the scene.

As of Thursday night, authorities had not released information regarding the extent of the person’s injuries or whether any other individuals were hurt. Traffic impacts were not immediately confirmed.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area while first responders work the incident.
