Proudly serving the Kern River Valley in California

Kaufman to Step Down After Current Term, Endorses Assistant Chase Nunneley

Posted

After much self-reflection and many family discussions, I have decided not to run for another term as the Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector. This was not an easy decision as I feel privileged and honored to work on behalf of the citizens of Kern County and the many local public agencies that participate in the County Treasury Investment Pool. I fully intend to finish my current term which ends on January 1, 2027. When I began my third term, it was with a commitment to four years of diligence and hard work and I fully intend to keep that commitment.

I have worked for the County of Kern for over 31 years serving the public in various finance and investment related positions and have appreciated all of the friendships, collaborations, opportunities, and challenges along the way. I am grateful to have so much support from my family and the community over the last three terms as Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector and I have many people to thank that have supported me. First and foremost, I would like to thank my wife Kristen for her constant support and love. After that, there are so many people and organizations that have supported me that I cannot list them all. I will just say that this community has an incredible culture of giving and support.

I am proud to officially support and endorse Assistant Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector, Chase Nunneley, as the next Treasurer and Tax Collector for the County of Kern. His knowledge, experience, and commitment to public service makes him the best candidate for this position.

Again, it has been and continues to be the highest honor to serve the people of Kern County.

Sincerely, Jordan Kaufman

Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector
