Lady Colts eighth grade girls shutout Haven Drive

The Wallace eighth-grade girls basketball team saw a lop-sided score go their way when they squared off with Haven Drive. The defense got credit for a shutout and the offense drop the ball through the hoop.
The Lady Colts dominated from start to finish. The smothering defense that produced 18 steals stopped the Haven Drive squad. Thise steals were turned into buckets and the game was well in hand for the Wallace team. These steals also crested a high percentage in shooting from the Lady Colts. As a team they were 12-of-29 (41 percent) from the field. Wallace controlled the boards as they grabbed 21 rebounds as a squad.
Leading the way in the easy win was Brenna Elliott with 12 points. Baylee Henry followed with six points, while Bridget Smith and Bailey Walker each scored two points. Getting on the scoring chart with a made free throw were Teagan Liske and Melissa Martinez. Henry handed out four assists to lead the Wallace team. Liske and Katie Smoot were credited with one assist apiece.
Smoot pulled down a team-high five rebounds. Elliott, Henry, and Kiera Kiosef followed by grabbing thtee boards apiece. Smith and Annabelle Maxwell finished with a pair of rebounds, while Walker, Addison Ross, and Martinez each had one rebound in the contest. Smoot was the leading thief for the Wallace team with five steals. Henry and Ross followed with four steals, while Walker recorded three steals. Liske, Kiosef, and Martines wrapped up the steals with one each.
