Crack open the claws and raise a glass—Crabfest is back!
The Kern Valley Hospital Foundation is inviting the community to gather under the big tent for its 7th Annual End-of-Summer Crabfest for Charity on Saturday, September 14, 2024. The event promises not just mouthwatering plates of fresh crab, but also live entertainment, laughter, and the kind of small-town camaraderie that makes the Kern River Valley shine.
Festivities kick off with a social hour at 4 p.m., giving guests a chance to mingle, sip on wine or beer, and work up an appetite. Once the platters are set down, diners will dig into a feast of crab—served the way it was meant to be enjoyed—alongside tenderloin for those craving a hearty alternative. It’s a meal designed for celebration, paired perfectly with good company and lively music.
But Crabfest isn’t just about food. Throughout the evening, attendees can browse and bid at a silent auction stocked with tempting items. For many, the auction is a highlight of the night, adding a playful spark of competition while raising crucial funds for the hospital foundation.
Tickets for this highly anticipated event are $65 per person, with seating limited to maintain an intimate and lively atmosphere. They’re available at the AltaOne branch in Lake Isabella or at the Kern Valley Hospital Human Resources Office on Mt. Mesa Road.
For families, groups of friends, or businesses seeking to make a greater impact, table sponsorships are available for $500, providing an opportunity to share the experience together while giving back in a meaningful way.
Over the years, Crabfest has become more than just a dinner—it’s a tradition. Locals come not only to savor the seafood but also to show support for the hospital foundation, which plays such a vital role in keeping healthcare strong in the valley. Every ticket purchased and every auction paddle raised helps strengthen that mission.
As summer winds down and the cool evenings of fall begin to settle in, the tent at Kern Valley Hospital will glow with the warmth of community spirit. So, grab your bibs, bring your appetite, and join your neighbors for a night of flavor, music, and generosity. Crabfest only comes once a year—make sure you don’t miss it.
