Steers a member of the history making Lady Broncs soccer team of last season has moved on and plays for Colorado Mesa University.
Taking the field on August 31 to open the season, the Mavericks were humbled by Humbolt State 2-1.

Steers in goal for CMU, faced six shots and was able to deflect four of them. She played the full 90 minutes in goal for her team versus the Jacks of Humbolt State.

Mavericks head coach, Jason Clare said, this about Steers, “I thought Abby did very well. I think the nerves were there for her. We just told her that we believe in her and that she has to believe in herself. She made some great decisions and she made a couple of fantastic saves. I am really proud of her and how she stepped into things.”

In their next match against the No. 22 ranked Sonoma State, Steers did not see any action. The Mavericks were shut out 2-0.
