The South Fork Union School District announced that it will be the new school year on August 14 utilizing an online distance learning model. The announcement was sent by Kim Kissack, Superintendent, via letter on July 23. The school will continue to operate via distance learning until Kern County is off of the State of California’s watch list for 14 consecutive days.
“The district will continue to work with our public health agency, the California Department of Health and the California Department of Education, and will continue to monitor and guide all our efforts toward in-person instruction as restrictions are lifted,” Kissack said.
Students will be provided Chromebook laptops, and parents will be notified as to how to pick them up.
