Shirley Ann Burson Stair

It is with deep sorrow that the family of Shirley Stair announces her sudden passing on November 10, 2024.   She died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes at her home in Lake Isabella, California at the age of 75. She was born on September 14, 1949 to parents Bill and Jan Burson at Drummond Hospital in Ridgecrest, California.  Shirley spent her childhood on the Naval Ordnance Test Station at China Lake living in civilian housing.  She attended elementary school and Murray Jr High at China Lake and graduated from Burroughs High School in 1967.  Shirley’s great joy came from her family as a devoted mother and grandmother.  Memories of baking Christmas sugar cookies, cheering on her children and grandchildren through the many years of sports and activities, and cherishing time with her three granddaughters will forever be remembered. Her latter years were filled with evenings playing dice with her closest friends. She raised a family and worked before retirement at the US Forest Service in Kernville, California. She had a huge heart and will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Jan Burson, her ex-husband and father of her two children, Lloyd Stair and her longtime companion, Gary Klavetter.  She is survived by her children Sheila McLeod (Rick) and David Stair; grandchildren Alexus McLeod, Audra McLeod and Lilly Stair; sisters Rita Read (David), Wanda Gregarek and brother, David Burson (Alison); with many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held at Knuckle Up Ministries at the Ark Church, 5301 Lake Isabella Blvd in Lake Isabella, California on Saturday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m.
