Biglay Feb. 16, 1925 – July 29, 2017 Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, Rose Rico Biglay passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of July 29, 2017, in Lake Isabella, Calif. Rose was born on February 16, 1925, in San Buenaventura, Mexico, the eldest of four siblings. Her father, Rosendo Rico, was a farmer and a caretaker of horses; and her mother, Cecilia Lorenz Rico, was a school teacher. Her siblings were Becky, Jesse and Helen. After her parents passed away, and while still a teenager, Rose was raised with her eight cousins by her Aunt Carmen and Uncle Jesse in San Antonio, Texas. Rose married George David Biglay, Sr., on March 19, 1944. Rose and George had three children, George Jr., Jesse and Yolanda. After they married, George Sr. and Rose moved to the Texas coast and eventually to Garden Grove, Calif. Rose was a homemaker before becoming a pre-school teacher with the Garden Grove Unified School District. Upon retiring from the school district, she moved to Lake Isabella to be with George Sr. and got involved in the local Head Start program. Rose retired (again) at 83 years young. George and Rose were married 66 years at the time of George’s passing in September 2010. Rose will be dearly missed by her children, George Jr., Jesse and Yolanda; her grandchildren Dawn and David, Melody, David and Deepa, Tiffany and Sam, Justin and Jessica, and Danielle and Dave; her great-grandchildren Avalon Rose, Honor Alexander, Breken Lee and Grace Rose; and her cousin Lottie, along with many other loved ones.
