Robert Leo Walsh was born December 26, 1928, in Wilkes Barre, Pa., to Jerome and Margaret Walsh. He was the sixth of seven children and was reunited with both of his parents and all his siblings on June 10, 2019. Robert, better known as Bob, left behind a grieving wife, Anna, whom he married on May 11, 1973, in North Hollywood, Calif. Together they had two children, Vykki and Bobby Walsh. Bob became the stepfather to Anna’s three children: Paul, David and Lorraine Mack.
Bob lived a great life, he was known as the “favorite uncle” to many nieces and nephews in his younger years as a bachelor before settling down and becoming the amazing family man he was known for during the last 46 years.
Bob entered into rest at his home in Bodfish, Calif. He leaves behind Anna, Vykki (and her husband Joe Miller), Bobby, Paul, David and Lorraine along with his grandchildren: Eric, Savannah, Sarah (and her husband Austin and son, Aiden), Joe, Billy Bob, Maddie, Heather (and her children Jack and Arden), Ashley (and her children Khloe and Ryder), Shelby, Emily, Lance, Mason, Brianna (and her children Jaden and Destiny). Bob was reunited with his grandson Brandon.
Bob had a private funeral at Valley Mortuary in Lake Isabella followed by a graveside memorial at Desert Lawn Cemetery in Palmdale on June 20, 2019.
For those who were honored to know Bob, he was always willing to offer a helping hand, supply a safe place to lay your head when times were tough and share a silly joke sure to put a smile on your face. Bob was considered old school; he came from a time when men treated women with respect and he was always available to listen and give valuable advice. The stories he told about his life are treasured memories to his children and grandchildren. Bob, or Pop Pop (as his grandchildren called him), will be greatly missed. His daily singing, generous heart and beautiful soul were a blessing to all who knew him.
