Richard O. Brun, 74, longtime resident of Lake Isabella, passed away on May 18, 2018.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Colleen, of 30 years whom he adored; two stepdaughters, Debra Cook and Jamie Neill; two step-sisters, Chris and Cynthia Sawyer; six step-grandchildren: granddaughters Tessa Eubanks, Tara Eubanks, Alyssa Neill and Kryssa Eubanks, and grandsons Michael Hradecky and Branden Neill; and great-grandsons Karson and Jackson Heaslet. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ellen and Jack Brun.
Richard was also preceded in death by his loving Aunt Jane and Uncle Russ. They were truly his loving teachers and mentors. He loved hiking in Mammoth with them. He leaves also his loving cousins, Charlie and Tina.
Richard worked as a machinist for many years. Upon retirement, he made many beautiful rock and wood products. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and dog Kasey, going for hikes and being in nature.
In his younger days, he enjoyed surfing and playing guitar. Richard worked hard in everything he did, including nearly receiving his Master’s Degree.
Viewing will be at Highland Chapel Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 27.
A memorial service for Richard will be held at Highland Chapel Methodist Church, 5301 Lake Isabella Blvd., on May 27, 2018, at 3:00 p.m.
