Ralph L. Brownell (Brownie), age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020.
Born on January 8, 1941, he was the eldest of four children born to Maurice Brownell and Mary Chumbley. He was a proud member of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division, paratroopers known as the “Screaming Eagles.”
After serving his Country, Ralph followed his Father’s footsteps by joining the Los Angeles City Fire Department where he contributed 26 years of distinguished public service as a Fireman/Paramedic and Engineer. He continued his public service for several years as a Code Enforcement Officer for the Cities of Lake Elsinore and Temecula.
Ralph was driven to make an impact on those in need. For years he volunteered his time to the Los Angeles Fireman’s Relief Association as a Board Trustee and the Riverside County Youth Accountability Team.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 57 years Carolyn, 3 Sons Michael and Wife Jennifer, Daniel, Ralph Jr. and Wife Joanna, 8 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, Brother Charles, Sister Maureen and Sister Susan.
His legacy has touched every branch of the Brownell family tree from California to Tennessee.
Ralph will receive Military Honors and be interned at Bakersfield National Cemetery (date to be determined).
