When you have a country rock star on the board of the Kernville Chamber of Commerce, what do you get?
Well according to her bio, aside from being a popular singer and musician, Valerie Stone, who is brand new to the board, is an entrepreneur and audio engineer.
Some local events, which she and her partner Bronson Slaughter have emceed include Whiskey Flat Days, Jeanette Rogers-Erickson’s Heart Walk, Boo-Tacular Fun Run, and the on-air radio show “Tradio.”
With her band Angels Roost she has played the Kern Valley Hospital Foundation’s River Rhythms summer concert series, and the National Night Out, as well as ROCK CAMP and the Borel Fire Benefit Concert .
Before she moved to the Kern Valley in 2020, Stone founded a 5,000 square foot music rehearsal and recording complex in Los Angeles for musicians. Her studio also catered to large production companies and TV shows, which included FOX, Hallmark Channel, and others.
In recent years, her widespread network has extended to Bakersfield and the surrounding communities in Kern County providing event support and entertainment to public figures, large companies, and non-profit events including Senator Shannon Grove, and a Village Fest at the Kern County Museum.
Stone told the Kern Valley Sun that she understands the daily struggle small business owners face, and issues, which can plague small communities.
Stone says she is definitely committed to serving the community and has high hopes for fostering economic prosperity. She loves the idea of encouraging unity.
