Pauline was born in Bakersfield, Calif., to parents, Paul Clark Rhoads and Virginia Hill (Palmer) Rhoads. Both preceded Pauline in death as did her two brothers Kenneth and Clark Rhoads.
She was well known in the Kern Valley by many.
Pauline attended South Fork Grammar School and two years of high school at Kern Valley High. Her last two years were at East Bakersfield High School.
After graduation she moved to Fresno Calif., working on a production line.
After two marriages Pauline moved back to the valley in 1967 to help her mother with Paul’s Place store after her father suffered a stroke. This would be her final working place for the rest of her life, totaling 50 + years.
During this time she would marry, Leslie “Les” Stewart, the father of their two children, Cheryl Stewart of Bakersfield, Calif., and Walter Stewart of Weldon, Calif.
Pauline leaves her two children and first cousins , Annette (Alexander) Staats, William “Bill” Blain, Maxine (Blain) Zander, Bakersfield, Calif.,
Andrew “Mick” Hall of Bakersfield, Calif. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and distant cousins.
On March 1, at 1:00 p.m., the public is invited to a celebration of her life at the Eagles Lodge in Mt. Mesa. Bring any of your fondest memories you care to share and a potluck dish.
