Jerry was born December 14, 1938, in Knox City, Texas, to John (Slim) and Katherine Hubble, and passed on April 15, 2017, at home from complications due to a stroke.
Jerry came to the Kern River Valley and built homes with his father and then went on to become a General Contractor on his own building many homes in the Valley and throughout California and Nevada. On May 11, 1985, Jerry married the love of his life, Sherri. Together they enjoyed camping, fishing and watching their children and grandchildren grow and play sports. Jerry was saved at Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield and became an active member of First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella, serving with the church property/maintenance crew. He thoroughly enjoyed working with the men and women on the crew and maintaining the church campus.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sherri, his sister Mary Guenther, his daughters, Teri Hubble and Tami Dean, his step-children, Angi Rigby, Doug DiMattia, Pete Boggus, Deana Boggus, Geri Lou Andersen and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lake Isabella on Sunday, April 23, at 3:30 with a reception to follow. The family would like to thank Dwayne and Sandy Kirkham, Sandy Meadors and Ruby Matzke for their love and assistance, the congregation of First Baptist Church for their prayers and support, and Optimal Hospice for their wonderful support and care.
