James Warren Ash went to be with his Lord and Savior July 20, 2017. Jim was born May 29, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Margaret Ash. He joined the military and served in World War II. After returning from service he continued his education in Colorado and Wyoming where he earned a Master's Degree.

While teaching in Palisade, Colorado Jim met Phyllis Lloyd. The couple married July 5, 1953. In 1963, Jim and his family moved to Lake Isabella where he worked as a teacher and counselor for the Kern High School District for 28 years, retiring in 1991.

Jim was involved in many community organizations. He was most proud of serving the Boy Scouts for more than 50 years. He and Phyllis traveled the world together and had many fond memories. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and taking them to lunch. He will be missed by many.
Jim is preceded in death by his loving wife, Phyllis. He is survived by his children, Patsy and husband Randy, Becky, Jim and wife Melissa, Warren and wife Shelley and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held August 4 at the First Baptist Church in Lake Isabella. There will be a 9 a.m. viewing; services will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at National Cemetery.
