No drought about it

Press Release
KRV Chamber

“No Drought About It, A Kern River Valley Christmas” is the theme for the 40th Annual Kern River Valley Chamber Lake Isabella Christmas Parade to be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. along Lake Isabella Blvd. in Lake Isabella. Pick out your favorite thing to do in the Kern River Valley and use it as your entry theme! Kayaking, mountain biking, wind surfing and rafting – the sky is the limit as we showcase the wonderful things the KRV provides.

We hope you will join the fun by filling out a parade entry form by the deadline on November 21. As in years past, there is NO ENTRY FEE to participate in the Kern River Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Christmas Parade; however, any and all entries received after the deadline on Tuesday, November 21, will be charged a $25 late entry fee. You may also fill out a sponsorship form if you would like to help sponsor this year’s parade. Your sponsorship is greatly appreciated!

Please call the KRV Chamber for parade entry and sponsorship forms at (760) 379-5236, or visit our office in the Sun Plaza at 6416 Lake Isabella Blvd (across the street from the Lake Isabella Post Office.) The forms are also available online at

The rules are simple:
-All entry forms must be received by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, in hand at the KRV Chamber office in order to be guaranteed a parade entry unit number and not incur a $25 late entry fee charge. Parade entry unit numbers may be picked up beginning at 8 a.m. prior to the parade on parade day in front of the KRV Chamber of Commerce office.
-Except for equestrian units, prejudging of all entries will begin at 9 a.m. in the lineup location, so make sure you are in line prior to this time in order to be judged. Only one person must be present with their float to be judged. -If you are not in line, you will not be judged!
-Equestrian units will be judged prior to the start of the parade; therefore, all units must be in the parade lineup no later than 10 a.m. Equestrian entries are asked to collect any awards at the chamber office following the parade, or when the office reopens for business on Monday, November 27.
-During the parade, Lake Isabella Blvd. will be closed from the 4-way signal light at Lake Isabella Blvd. and Hwy 155 south to Crestview.
-Throwing of candy is done at your own risk, as our insurance does not cover you in the event that someone is injured.
-Friendly reminder: The official Santa Claus is designated by the KRV Chamber.

Please support our community’s tradition by participating or becoming a parade sponsor! Thank you!
