It’s never a bad idea to show how former Kern Valley athletes are doing at the next level.
Such is the case with three former Kern Valley High School athletes.
Lexi LaFarga, who attends Porterville College and plays softball, was recently selected by the NFCA as an All-American Scholar Athlete.
Staying in tune with former Lady Broncs, Rebecca Gallis who attends Monmouth College was recently named first team All-League player for Women’s basketball which were selected in a vote of the league’s coaches. Gallis earned her first all-league selection after averaging 16.3 points per game and shooting .373 on 47 three-pointers, all Monmouth highs. She was third in the conference in scoring average and second in points scored. A guard, Gallis also grabbed 85 rebounds and posted 48 assists.
Finishing out the next level athletes was Zach Bushling who attends Sierra College.
Bushling has impressive numbers as a sophomore this season.
He played in 19 games with 80 at bats. He collected 31 hits, including nine doubles, three triples, and one home run. He scored 31 runs and drove in 18. He collected 14 walks and struck out 11 times. He has also swiped seven bases. His average was .388, while his OBP was .490. He had a .613 slugging percentage and has only committed one error in 71 total chances.
It’s safe to say that all three former athletes have performed well at the next level inspiring those that may follow behind them.
