Timber Miriah was honored as the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Outstanding Youth Volunteer for Veterans at the California State Conference of the Daughters of the American Revolution on March 16. An excerpt from Timber’s speech at the conference exemplifies the outstanding young woman she is. “It’s always been an honor working with these brave men and women, and spending time with them has always been something I hold close to my heart. I could never comprehend the magnitude of loss that this country has endured by its veterans, until such time as when I did the Honor Flight and saw the Memorial Walls in Washington, D.C. The names brought to life how much our veterans have sacrificed for our liberty.”
Timber Miriah won DAR Outstanding Youth volunteer at the DAR Southwestern Division. Her application is now being judged at the National level. Members of our community and the local DAR Kawaiisu Chapter are proud of Timber’s achievement and her committed service to veterans.
