McCarthy Announces 2017 Congressional App Challenge

PRESS RELEASE / Congressman Kevin McCarthy’s Office

Congressman Kevin McCarthy announced today that he is participating in the 2017 Congressional App Challenge for students that reside or attend school in California’s 23rd Congressional District. Congressman McCarthy made the following statement:

The STEM students of today will guide our country towards a strong tomorrow. As a strong proponent of innovation and STEM programs, I am excited to support the 2017 Congressional App Challenge and provide an opportunity for students to learn valuable skills and exhibit their great ideas.  I’m looking forward to reviewing the submissions and seeing the innovative ideas that the students in our community produce.”

The Congressional App Challenge is now in its third year and Congressman McCarthy joins over 200 House Members in offering a district wide competition for his constituents to explore the field of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math).

All students who have not yet graduated from high school are invited to participate in the challenge either individually or in a team of up to four students. Students or teams will compete for congressional recognition and the opportunity to have their app displayed in the United States Capitol. The deadline to submit applications is November 1.
