Maria Hunt passed peacefully in her sleep and went to be with the Lord on April 28.
She was born in Hollywood, California to Raymond and Gladys Polverini on November 18, 1942, The first of the couples seven children.
She graduated from Immaculate Hearts Catholic High School and continued her education at UCLA. Maria retired from a successful career in the entertainment industry as a Production Accountant in 2005 and moved to the Kern River Valley with her husband Jim that year.
Maria enjoyed the outdoors, backpacking, camping, hiking and always had a sketch pad or some watercolors to capture the scenic areas she visited.
Anything she did not capture at the time she would later create an oil painting from photographs taken by Jim. She was highly active in the local Kern River Valley art community especially painting with the group at the Nuui Cunni Cultural Center.
She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years Jim Hunt, four sons, Edmund Monsour, Damon Monsour, Brian Monsour and Todd Hunt, Sisters, Carol Sorenson, Cathy Ward, Linda Bobrow, Robert Rey, and brothers, Celso Polverini and Raymond Polverini.
She will be laid to rest in Valhalla Memorial Park, North Hollywood on May 7th. There will be a celebration of life at a date not yet determined.
