The Kern River Valley Major Softball opened the Little League All-Star Tournament against the team from Tehachapi. The KRV team played this game in Quartz Hill on Saturday.

The All-Star ladies would suffer a 14-0 loss to begin the tournament. The home town team went up against a quality pitcher from Tehachapi. The KRV squad was limited to just two base runners in the five innings played. They had one hit and one free pass as the only times they reached safely. The team from the KRV was set down on strikes 10 times. And at one point the pitcher from Tehachapi retired 11 straight batters.

Trinity Shepard collected the lone hit for the Kern River Valley squad. She would also work out a walk in the fifth inning. She swiped a pair of bases, but was stranded at third as the inning came to an end.

The home town All-Star squad was dropped to the loser’s bracket in the tournament. This will be a tough road as each game from here on out is an elimination game.
