Major Baseball All-Stars swing into action

By Ray Conner

The team is set, practices have been completed, now the only thing left is to play the tournament.

The Major Baseball squad of All-Stars are set to let the pitching, defense, and their bats do the talking as they begin All-Star competition of Little League. After playing a regular season as opponents, these young men will gather together and play as a team. The team and their coaches are hoping to represent the Kern River Valley and ride a wave of success into the next round.

The KRV squad will be making the trip to Tehachapi to begin their path in the tournament. The first game will be played tonight with a start time of 5:30 p.m. And the KRV team will take on the host, Tehachapi. The winner will advance in the winner’s bracket and take on Bishop.

Getting the first win is always the important one. If you are able to collect the opening round win you are still guaranteed to play two more games. The loser is at a disadvantage as every game they play is an elimination game.

The KRV team will be coached by Pablo Anzaldo with assistants Justin Wilkins and Jacqueline Phillips helping out. Members of the team are: Chasen Alvarez, Xander Anzaldo, Abel Avila, Luke Carver, Heston Creighton, Briggs Griswold, Talon Montes, Cash Nobles, Jackson Phillips, Jonathan Phillips, and Andrew Young.
