Concerned for business growth in the Kern Valley area, the owner of Sequoia Mountain Apothecary held a Hallows Eve themed, Young Entrepreneur Vendor Fair at a Haunted Apothecary, Saturday, October 19.

Delina Veter Designs sold hair clips, spooky jars for decoration, scented roll on body glitter, and necklaces. The owner, Elizabeth, is a grade 6 student, at South Fork and is a good student according to her mother. She started her business for money and made all of her merchandise herself. The name of the business means, “Windy Valley Designs.”

The owner of Avary’s Creative Crafts, was selling decorative pillows she sewed and bracelets she crafted herself. She’s been selling for about a year and now is into crochet. This was her first Young Entrepreneur’s Fair.

Pixie Stitch Studios sold mostly Mickey Mouse style ears of various Disney inspired hair bands. The owner Amy, age 24, started making them when she wanted her own, at sweet 16, for each day she spent at Disney World, but couldn’t afford them.

Another young entrepreneur sold paintings and other items but said she had not named her business yet. “I just like selling stuff,” she said.

Owner of Sweetie Annette sold many handcrafted items, including scarves and hats, beside the owner of K Dove Stuff, who was a baby.

Emerie, wearing a Halloween costume, is owner of Jewelry Rocks. She sold homemade bracelets with her grandma Patty and sold them on consignment, through different businesses, such as Red Rooster. “I’m in 3rd grade. And in a couple months I’m going to be 9,” she told the Kern Valley Sun.
