The Kern Valley Museum recently presented a magic show fundraiser. We’ve been working hard to pay off our brand new roof and this fundraiser helped a great deal. I’d like to thank the following people and businesses for their assistance in making this a success: First, I’d like to thank Taylor Goins and his grandmother, Joyce, for not only letting us use the Reel Cinema as a venue, but for the very long day that Joyce put in opening things up, selling concessions and closing things down. You guys are awesome! Second, I’d like to thank the Sun for helping us to advertise and get the word out for the event, and for writing a great article after the fact. I’d also like to thank Charlie Busch for his excellent radio ads for the event. They were fun and creative. Finally, I’d like to thank all of those businesses throughout the Valley that let us hang our posters in their windows. Without the support of our community and businesses, the Historical Society cannot run our first class museum!
