Kern County Sheriff’s Report
On 01/26/19, deputies arrested Kody Brooks, age 24, at the intersection of Kern River Canyon Dr. and Hwy 178, Lake Isabella, for burglary in the second degree and violation of parole.
On 01/27/19, deputies arrested Jenna Miller, age 34, in the 2600 block of Webb St., Lake Isabella, for an active felony warrant.
On 01/28/19, deputies arrested Sara Wayne, age 27, in the 3900 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, for an active warrant.
On 01/28/19, deputies arrested Nicholas Satter, age 35, in the 100 block of Kellen Wy., Bodfish, for threatening crime with intent to terrorize.
On 01/29/19, deputies arrested Zachariah Byrd, age 30, in the 1700 block of Chain Ave., Lake Isabella, for failure to register as a transient sex offender, trespassing and false information to a peace officer.
On 01/29/19, deputies arrested Stephanie Elmallah, age 28, on Hwy 178 at Democrat Hot Springs for possession of a controlled substance and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
On 01/29/19, deputies arrested Timothy Gray, age 40, on Hwy 178 at Democrat Hot Springs for two active warrants.
On 01/29/19, deputies arrested Kristopher Howie, age 45, in the 2400 block of Harnage St., Lake Isabella, for threatening crime with intent to terrorize and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse / cohabitant.
On 01/30/19, deputies arrested Marvin Zimmer, age 46, in the 100 block of Piute St., Bodfish, for two active warrants.
On 01/30/19, deputies arrested Chad Mizer, age 26, in the 3500 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, for violation of a court order: domestic violence.
On 01/31/19, deputies arrested Matthew Garris, age 19, on Hwy 178 for driving without a valid license and driving left of the double solid yellow line.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested Mark Munoz, age 25, in the 6500 block of Laurel Ave., Lake Isabella, for an active warrant.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested Loretta Kenedy, age 62, in the 3500 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, for obstructing a peace officer in the line of duty.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested Michael Deatherage, age 46, in the 3000 block of Cox Rd., Lake Isabella, for assault with a firearm on a person, burglary in the first degree, vandalism: damage to property, willful cruelty to a child and inflicting corporal injury on a spouse / cohabitant.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested Josephina Martinez, age 42, at the intersection of Hwy 178 and Elizabeth Norris Rd., Lake Isabella, for driving while license is suspended, unregistered vehicle and no insurance.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested Donald Davis, age 62, in the 14000 block of Hwy 178 for an active warrant.
On 02/01/19, deputies arrested David Watkins, age 50, in the 3500 block of Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella, for prohibited person from possessing ammunition and failure to appear after a written promise.

February Safety Tip
Whiskey Flat Days often brings extra traffic to the Kern River Valley and excessive pedestrian traffic in the Kernville area. The California Highway Patrol wants to remind everyone to use extra caution during this weekend when traveling. Additionally, make sure to utilize vehicle safety restraint systems. Drive Safely and Buckle Up!
On 01/26/2019, KCSO deputies and CHP officers responded to a citizen’s report of a possible DUI driver en route to Kernville. The vehicle was located at the Kern Valley Cemetery in Wofford Heights. KCSO contacted the driver in the vehicle and observed signs and symptoms of alcoholic beverage intoxication. The driver was identified as Lisa Reno from Kernville, Calif. CHP responded and conducted a DUI investigation. The subsequent investigation led to Reno’s arrest for misdemeanor driving under the influence.
On 01/27/2019, at approximately 4:30 p.m., CHP responded to a traffic collision on State Route 178 at Paul’s Place Drive. The driver of a 1957 Chevy Bel Air traveling eastbound on SR0178 drove off the roadway onto the south shoulder, over-corrected, and collided into a ravine on the north shoulder. The driver was identified as Kenneth Dodds from Weldon. Dodds was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and alcohol is suspected to be a contributing factor in this collision. Dobbs was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
On 01/29/2019, at approximately 9:38 a.m., CHP responded to a traffic collision on State Route 155, north of Air Force Way. A 2001 Honda Accord traveling westbound on SR-155 crossed over the double yellow lines and collided head-on with a 2002 Chevy Tahoe that was traveling eastbound on SR-155. The drive of the Honda succumbed to his injuries at the scene, and the driver of the Tahoe was transported to Kern Medical for treatment of her injuries. This collision is still under investigation, and the use of alcohol or drugs being a contributing factor in this collision is unknown at this time.
