The Lady Broncs varsity softball team clobbered Wonderful to win their 11th game in a row. Dating back to last year Kern Valley now has an 11-game winning streak. Depending on what happens it could be their last game of the year. If it was they would go out with a bang. The final score was 27-6 as the Lady Broncs offense pounded out 21 hits. Six of those hit were for extra bases. They collected three doubles and three triples.
Kern Valley fell behind 2-0 after the Lady Wolves of Wonderful scored twice in their half of the first inning. The deficit was short-lived as Kern Valley produced five runs in their half of the first inning. From that point on it was all Lady Broncs as they scored nine runs in the second to open the huge 14-2 cushion.
Another five in the third made it 19-2 and they would finish with eight runs in the fourth to put the score at 27-2. Wonderful scored four runs in the top of the fifth, but it was not enough to overcome the huge margin that the Lady Broncs had built. Leading the team was Aryan Meyers with five hits, including two that went for triples. She would deliver six RBIs in the game. Haily Martinez had three hits, including a double and a triple. She would knock in three runs. Lexi Baker and Sierra Klase each had a pair of hits. They would record doubles with one of their hits. Klase was credited with two RBIs, while Baker had one.
Hannah Ocampo and Kaila Gholson had two hits apiece and one RBI each, while Haley Tedrow ahd one hit and two RBIS. Molly Watson, Anne Keverline, Dekaney Lykins, and Mila Morgan each had one hit and one RBI in the game for Kern Valley. Klase earned the victory in the circle. She tossed five innings allowing the six run, only five were earned. She walked seven and struck out four. The Lady Broncs currently sit at 4-0 as they will now be in a holding pattern to see if their season can continue.
