The junior varsity Lady Broncs volleyball squad finished second at the Shafter Tournament this past Saturday.
Kern Valley went through pool play undefeated as they took care of North, Kennedy, and Garces to move on to bracket play. They won both games against each school in pool play.
In bracket play it was winner take all as the first team to 25 would be declared the winner and advance to the championship game.
The Lady Broncs dominated the tournament host school Shafter as they collected the 25-17 victory.
With the win they would move on to the title game against Cesar Chavez.
In the championship game, Kern Valley could not sustain the momentum they had built up and were defeated in two games 15-7 and 15-13. Despite the loss, the Lady Broncs would come home in second place for the tournament.
Head coach Brianna Moss said, “The girls played really well and got a lot of great experience.
