It was a satisfying way to begin High Desert League action for the varsity Lady Broncs volleyball squad.
Kern Valley began their league season with a pair of victories. They opened with a match in Boron where they easily took the match in three straight sets.
Scores for the match were as follows 25-17, 25-21, and 25-11.
The team delivered 22 kills in the match and served up 15 aces.
Taking their opening league win to Desert two days later, Kern Valley continued their march to a successful season with a hard fought five-game match.
They would collect the match victory and stay unbeaten in HDL play.
Game one saw Kern Valley drop the 25-19 decision. They responded by taking game two by the same 25-19 score to even the match at one game apiece. It was the Lady Scorpions turn to answer as they gained the 25-22 win to move to within one game of the match.
The Lady Broncs battled back and took the close game four 25-23 to send it to the fifth and deciding game of the match.
In the final game, it was all Kern Valley as the claimed the game 15-6 and earned the match victory to move to 2-0 in HDL action.

The Lady Broncs, on their home court, took on perennial powerhouse Frazier Mountain on Tuesday.
They will be back at home on Thursday when Rosamond comes to town.
