The Kern Valley varsity girls basketball squad played on their home court as they took on their rival on Jan. 30.
The Lady Broncs entertained Bishop in a High Desert League game. The Lady Broncs broke from the gate and led from start to finish. In the opening quarter, Kern Valley took the 15-6 lead. By the time the teams went into the locker room for halftime, the lead had ballooned to 36-21.
In the second half of action, the Lady Broncs balanced the scoring in both the third and fourth quarter. They dropped in 12 points in each quarter.
The Kern Valley defense limited the Lady Broncos to 21 second half points to claim the 60-42 victory.

The Lady Broncs (11-5, 4-2 HDL) are firmly planted in third place in league with three games to play. On Tuesday, it was Senior Night as they took on Frazier Mountain. They will be on the road at Rosamond on Friday.
